How to use

  1. Drop or select the image you want to clean.
  2. Set a brush size and paint over the watermark — cover it fully, plus a pixel or two of its edge.
  3. Click Remove painted area, then download — or paint over any leftovers and run it again.

Frequently asked questions

How does the removal actually work?

It runs Telea inpainting — the same fast-marching algorithm OpenCV uses. The painted area is erased, then refilled pixel by pixel, working inward from the edge of your brush stroke and following the direction of the surrounding lines and colours so edges continue into the gap instead of blurring across it.

What kind of watermarks does it handle well?

Thin marks over reasonably even backgrounds — logo text, captions, date stamps, small objects on sky, skin, walls, or water. It reconstructs structure, not texture, so a large brush over busy detail such as foliage or a crowd comes back noticeably smooth. Painting in several small passes beats one big one.

Is it legal to remove a watermark?

On your own images, or ones you have the rights to edit, yes — removing your own logo, a client's stamp, or a stray object is ordinary editing. Removing another party's watermark to reuse their work is copyright infringement in most countries, and in the US also risks a claim under the DMCA's copyright-management-information rules. That call is yours to make.

Can it remove invisible AI watermarks like SynthID?

No. Those are encoded across the whole image rather than in one spot, and only the vendor's detector can read them. This tool works on marks you can see and paint over. For the metadata a generator writes into the file, use the AI Image Metadata Cleaner.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is decoded, repainted, and re-encoded inside your browser — the work runs in a background thread on your own device, and the file never leaves it.
